Student dedicates mid-semester break to ministry
Avondale student Jaz Northey dedicated her mid-semester break to a ministry called Storm Co., a youth-oriented mission opportunity focused on serving small communities.
Along with other local youth from Port Macquarie Adventist Church, Jaz assisted in running children’s activities and helped out with community service projects such as mowing lawns, washing cars, and even puppy sitting for residents of Quirindi in New South Wales.
Port Macquarie Adventist Church has teamed up with other churches from the Central Coast to minister to the town of Quirindi for the past eight years. According to Jaz, “the locals know each and every one of us and look forward to us visiting.” This is the third year Jaz has participated in Storm Co., and every year the excitement of returning to the town grows.
“I would highly recommend attending at least one trip during your lifetime and feeling the purpose it gives you.”
“Not only do you meet and grow bonds with the team… but also the locals and especially all the kids,” Jaz said. “I would highly recommend attending at least one trip during your lifetime and feeling the purpose it gives you.”
