Launch: Dearest Folks
May 28, 2016, 4.30 PM-5.30 PM
FreeReflect on an Avondale alumna’s mission experience and celebrate the launch of a book based on the letters she sent home to family in Australia.
It’s 1956, and Margaret and husband Horrie begin the adventure of a lifetime: mission service in Vanuatu (then the New Hebrides) and on Bougainville in the then Territory of New Guinea. In these letters sent home to family in Australia, Margaret gives a thorough account of daily life working as a missionary nurse in the South Pacific.
The launch of Dearest Folks: Letters Home From a Missionary Wife and Mother features:
- Reflections from Margaret and co-author Dr Robyn Priestly; and
- A keynote from retired educator and raconteur Dr John Hammond.
Hosted by Signs Publishing Book Editor Nathan Brown.
Includes: afternoon tea.
Sale!
Dearest Folks will be available for sale at the launch-only price of $20.
It will also be available from Adventist Book Centres and from hopeshop.com for $24.95 from Monday, May 30.
