A local publication has described Avondale Conservatorium’s Messiah concert in December 2013 as one of “great skill and dignity.”

The Morisset and Peninsula Bulletin publishes a review of the performance in its February 2014 issue. Brian Rabjohn writes of the young soloists—Jana Aveling, Kimberley Jones, Emily Thomas, Dell Lawrence and Daniel Laredo—attacking the pieces with “vigour” and “professionalism.” The Avondale Chamber Orchestra, he adds, provides “excellent” support for the “well rehearsed and crisp” Avondale Singers.

Messiah, a performance of Handel’s Messiah directed by Aleta King, formed part of Avondale College of Higher Education’s graduation weekend. It also featured Avondale Guitar Ensemble and the work of calligrapher Timothy Botts.
