The ‘Avondale Experience’ explained – part one

You may have heard it. I said it when I visited your school. Your siblings, parents and even grandparents might have told you about it. You probably felt it when you visited our campus. That’s right. I’m talking about the ‘Avondale Experience’. Well it’s true. The ‘Avondale Experience’ is real. I studied at Avondale and my ‘Avondale Experience’ was awesome.

So how do you explain the elusive ‘experience’ that can only be seen and felt by partaking in the experience itself? How to draw you into the world that is unique to every individual; that is created by embracing the opportunities, diving into the unknown, discovering the warmth and growth that could be your future?

The People
For me, the people I met over the 4 years I spent studying at Avondale, was the best part. I now have friends living all over the world and when I travelled to America in 2016 I was able to catch up with a friend I hadn’t seen in years. It’s been a nostalgic experience for me as many of the friendships I made at Avondale continue on in my adult life and are friends I catch-up with regularly and even work with.

The Campus
Some of you have seen our campuses in person and are half way there to understanding the ‘Avondale Experience’. We have one of the most beautiful campuses (in Lake Macquarie, NSW) surrounded by nature, making for a very peaceful place to study. We also have a campus located in Northern Sydney (in Wahroonga, NSW) with all the modern amenities a nursing student could ask for, not to mention accessibility to some of Sydney’s greatest features. If you take the option of living on campus you make the most of everything on offer in and out of the classroom, creating a fully rounded ‘Avondale experience’.

If living on campus isn’t an option for you, enjoying the tranquil nooks around the Lake Macquarie campus – in Rejuve café and the library study areas – or the hustle and bustle outside The Caf and in the Audo, in front of girl’s dorms or College Hall café on a Monday night, will prove productive and satisfying. Or, enjoy meeting students from Sydney University’s Medical school in the student common room of the Wahroonga campus, chill at the local cafés or utilise the public transport to explore the nearby city that is Sydney and its’ famous beaches.

But wait! There’s more to your Avondale experience. Stay tuned for part two of this blog series on the ‘Avondale Experience’. But in the meantime, start experiencing Avondale via our snapchat ‘avondalexp’ and our hashtag #avondalexp.
