Illuminate: Avondale Futures Day 2017

Set this day aside to plan your future and be illuminated at Avondale

On Wednesday 7th June 2017, block out your diary and come to Avondale’s Lake Macquarie campus to plan your future at Futures Day.

Avondale’s open day, Futures Day, is offered free of charge, to anyone interested in learning more about studying higher education at Avondale. We also shout you morning tea and lunch!

Visiting a uni campus is one of the most beneficial things you can do before you decide where you want to study. Some university campuses are like small cities! Others are smaller and easier to navigate around. Decide for yourself where you fit and at which uni campus. Avondale’s Lake Macquarie campus is vast, inclusive of shaded jacaranda trees and surrounded by farmland. You might say it has a regional feel but is situated just a hop skip and jump from the major Westfield Tuggerah, local beaches and national parks, and 40mins from Newcastle City Centre.

Futures Day showcases the benefits of studying at Avondale.

Careers
Do you have a caring nature and seek a career where you can help people? Nursing or teaching might be a viable option for you.
Are you interested in an active life? Outdoor Recreation might be the option for you.
Do you like numbers and manipulating spreadsheets? Our Bachelor of Business (Accounting) might be right for you.

There are a range of sessions available to you on the day, designed to allow you to learn more about a particular course area you’re interested in studying. Whether in the areas of: Business, Marketing, Accounting, Teaching (Primary), Teaching (Secondary), Early Childhood Teaching, Counselling, Psychology, Humanities, Science, Maths, Ministry & Theology and the list goes on… you will have the opportunity to talk to lecturers and students from specific course areas to learn what the degree course is all about. You rarely get the chance to speak to lecturers about what you can expect from your uni experience, so don’t let this opportunity slip by!

Getting to sit in the lecture theatres where you might in fact learn your degree will give you an idea of learning at Avondale and the environment that will shape your future.

Live on Campus
Of course, the best uni experience is had by those who live on their uni campus. At Avondale Futures Day 2017 you can also choose to see what it’s like to live in the dorms and what other activities are on offer on the campus to enhance your experience and to make the most of your Avondale Experience.

Study Hints & HSC Support
Most importantly there are specific HSC subject lectures and a study hints session to give you some points and inspiration to add to your study schedule for the HSC. There is also a presentation on Preparing for University by staff and students who know exactly what you are going through and can share their tips on what to expect and how to deal with the HSC year.

The Quick Facts About Futures Day
