We understand finances can make or break where you choose to attend uni
So what are your options for financial assistance at Avondale?
Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP)

A CSP is a subsidy where the government actually pays part of your fees. As it’s a subsidy, not a loan, you don’t have to pay it back. Avondale has a certain amount of CSPs available to students enrolled in the following courses:

  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Teaching (Birth – 12 years)
  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Teaching (Primary)
  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary)
  • Master of Teaching (Primary)
  • Master of Teaching (Secondary)

If you are enrolled, or plan to enrol in one of the above courses and want to receive a CSP, here’s how:

  1. Check your eligibility
  2. Apply for a participating course before the application deadline
  3. You will then be informed by email if you have been offered a CSP
  4. To accept your offer, complete the Electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form provided to you by the deadline stated in your offer
Fee-Help

Avondale participates in the Australian Government’s FEE-HELP program, in which eligible students can receive a loan through the government to pay their course fees that they later pay back. To use FEE-HELP for your course at Avondale:

  1. Check your eligibility to receive FEE-HELP
  2. If you are eligible, apply for your course at Avondale as normal
  3. Enrol in your units
  4. After completing steps 1-3, eligible students able to access a FEE-HELP Loan will automatically receive an email from Student Finance advising the application process for FEE-HELP
  5. Complete the FEE-HELP Electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form issued by the ATO before the noted the census date deadline
Prizes

For enrolled students, there are numerous opportunities to be awarded monetary prizes for excellence in your chosen area of study. Students are nominated by the Faculty Learning and Teaching Committee, and winners are announced during Semester 2. Find out which prizes are available here.

Scholarships

Avondale offers several scholarships in research, academia, specialised areas of study, and participation in service, leadership, and summer camps. Externally funded scholarships are also available. You can view the full list and their accompanying application forms here.

Outside of Avondale, the Australian government also offers a range of scholarships. You can see full details here.

While uni can be expensive, there are plenty of options to help make the financial aspect more manageable.
