Connecting with the community—here and overseas

Kerina-Lee Joy serves as a pastor in Sydney and—via the web—in Auckland. She’s also one of our master’s students. We asked her five questions. Here are the answers she gave.

What’s one thing we wouldn’t know about you?
I’m a digital pastor for a church in Auckland and a community pastor and evangelist for a lifestyle and mission centre in Sydney.

How do you define success?
Seeing a person return to the centre. It’s an opportunity to be part of their spiritual journey.

What are you reading?
A Call To Stand Apart, a compilation of writings by Seventh-day Adventist pioneer Ellen White.

Who’s one of your heroes?
The biblical prophet, Jonah. His success as an evangelist fascinates me.

Complete this sentence: “My greatest love in life is . . . ”
God’s Word. It prompts, heals, teaches and shows me how to love.
