Meet Maisie Denzin
Maisie Denzin wants to better understand people and their motivations and choices. So, inspired by the impact on her life by a mental health professional, she enrolled in our Graduate Diploma in Counselling. We asked her five questions.
What’s one thing we wouldn’t know about you?
My work for [Christian disability and mental health services company] 121 Supports Hunter sees me helping participants pursue their interests and passions. This could be shopping for Levi’s Jeans, attending concerts at the local theatre, or printing coursework for a chaplaincy degree.
What have you ticked off on your bucket list?
Growing flowers to make into bouquets. I also enjoy making crazy bags out of tinsel, glitter and recycled cardboard.
Who or what inspired you to study again?
My counsellor, Rose Weir. She still encourages me.
Encourage us with a piece of advice.
God has a plan and will finish the good work He starts in us. Trust Him.
What are you reading?
Schema Therapy: A Practitioner’s Guide. It’s the first major text for clinicians who use this model.
