Welcome to the Avondale Arts blog, which celebrates the achievements, creativity and research of staff members and students in and alumni of the School of Humanities and Creative Arts at Avondale University College.

The school offers study in a variety of strands. These include communications and visual communications, counselling and psychology, English, international poverty and development studies, history (modern and ancient), music, and visual arts.

Lynnette Lounsbury

Lynnette Lounsbury, an alumna of 1998, is head of the School of Humanities and Creative Arts at Avondale University College. A passionate storyteller, she is a producer on the documentary The Meaning of Vanlife and author of the novels We Ate the Road Like Vultures (Inkerman & Blunt) and Afterworld (Allen & Unwin). Her research and creative practice is in speculative histories and she lectures across the communication, history and English strands. Lynnette loves to travel—she is editor of the Ytravel blog (www.avondale.edu.au/ytravel)—but between suitcases is quite happy to enjoy the beach on her home turf of Bronte in Sydney.
