Biography

Dr Lyell Heise is Director of the Institute of Worship and a Conjoint Senior Lecturer in the seminary at Avondale University College. He trained in music and theology at Avondale, Andrews University (Berrien Springs, Michigan, USA) and Fuller Theological Seminary (Pasadena, California, USA). He has wide experience in music ministry and in senior church pastoral leadership in several countries. Lyell began playing piano at age five and fell in love with hymns soon after. He memorised many of the words and music of The Church Hymnal and the Seventh-day Adventist Hymnal that replaced it.
