Res Banquet turns back time
Doug Simpson muscles up with Jared Morton (left) and Cory Chalker (right) at the annual Res Banquet for on-campus students at Avondale College of Higher Education. The theme this year: carnival. Instead of a sit down meal, students served themselves food they may have found at festivals in the 1950s—chips, corn on the cob, hot dogs and chocolate-coated bananas. The banquet is a memory event, says assistant director of men’s residence Pr Shane Roberts. Making it more memorable: residence assistants, all of who are students, do most of the work.—Brenton Stacey, public relations officer, Avondale College of Higher Education
