A free Avondale Libraries’ course to help seniors share their life stories

Our stories shape us and can create an important legacy. Writing an ebook is an easy and effective way to capture memories forever and develop confident digital skills.

Learn the basics of writing before creating your ebook. Print your book (self-published in paper form), upload it online or save it as a file on your computer. Choose to sell your book through Amazon or share it with family and friends. Receive a course outline and notes for each session.

I had never even read an ebook, and here I was writing one! Having published two printed books, I was amazed to find how easy and convenient it is to publish electronically. And sales are coming in. This is an excellent opportunity to write that family history. The course covers all aspects of writing an ebook, even marketing.Wendy Cox, Ebook Publishing course, 2019
Presenter: Bruce Thompson, a physiotherapist and publisher of four books who “loves his Kindle [an ereader designed and marketed by Amazon] almost as much as helping others enjoy reading and publishing Kindle books.”

Free six-week course offered in a single session every Tuesday from January 28 to March 3.

Places limited to 16. Participants must be aged 50 years and over.

Note: Bring your own computer or we can supply one (limited numbers).

Funded by a Good Things Foundation grant as part of Be Connected, a $20-million Australian Government program to increase the confidence, skills and online safety of older Australians when they use the internet.

Presented by Friends of the Library.
