Reflect on the biblical and historical writings of Dr Bryan W Ball at the launch of this 80th birthday commemorative selection published by Avondale Academic Press.

Grounds for Assurance and Hope reflects Ball’s academic interests, including Puritan history and belief, the authority of the Bible and the history of English translations of the Bible, as well as theological topics such as redemption and eschatology.

Among the chapters are several previously unpublished works and works from other authors providing a brief biography of Ball’s life and evaluating Ball’s published works.

Dr Bryan W Ball, a former president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the South Pacific, is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at and former principal of Avondale College of Higher Education.

Associate Professor Daniel Reynaud, a historian, is Assistant Dean (Learning and Teaching) in the Faculty of Arts, Nursing and Theology at Avondale College of Higher Education.

Dr Steven Thompson is a Higher Degree Research Supervisor at Avondale College of Higher Education.
