Meet Jody Eddy

Jody Eddy values learning. “To continue growing, I need to challenge myself.” So, she enrolled in our Master of Arts (Theology). The study is complementing her work as Discipleship Ministries Team Leader for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Western Australia. “My eyes are continually opened to the awesomeness of Jesus.” We asked her five questions.

How do you define success in ministry?
Success is being true to the calling God has placed on my heart. Loving God and others, especially after I’ve been emotionally knocked around.

What are you reading?
Surprise the World! The Five Habits of Highly Missional People by Michael Frost. Its practical insights are profound.

Who’s one of your heroes?
Dad [Geoff Donovan], a pastor who navigates difficult situations with grace. When I was a child, he would always include me in his ministry. The best mentoring experience.

How do you spend your discretionary time?
Going on adventures with my family. We jokingly call ourselves the Edventurers because we like to explore new places together.

Encourage us with a piece of advice.
Ask, “How can I bring hope to those I meet today?” Not every moment is perfect—life has joys and challenges—but every moment can be touched by God’s presence.
