What Are We Worried About?

Monday, March 31, 2014

What is it that is most concerning Australians at the moment? The NAB produce a regular Consumer Anxiety Index which reveals just what is weighing on the minds of Australia.

The latest release (found here) indicates that those most likely to be anxious are:

  • Living in NSW/ACT
  • Women aged 30 – 39
  • Divorced

In contrast to this, the least anxious are typically:

  • Widows
  • Men aged 18 – 29
  • Retirees

Australians are very worried about their cost of living, it being the single biggest cause of anxiety, and job security is growing as a factor. On the other side, Australians are less worried about their health, and if you live in WA or Victoria you are probably less anxious than a year ago, unlike everyone else.

The report contains a wealth of information about Australians and what is of concern to us all. This information can assist your organisation in understanding your constituency and employees, and what is most important to them.
