Vice-president accepts call to serve in Fiji

Avondale College’s vice-president (finance) will move to Fiji next year as chief financial officer for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Trans Pacific.

Francois Keet says he accepted the call because he and his family see it as part of their commitment to the church. He also says it is healthy to have reasonable turnover in the senior finance role because others will bring “a different perspective to Avondale’s operations.”

President Dr Ray Roennfeldt thanks Francois for his contribution. “[He’s] given five years of outstanding financial management to Avondale and will be greatly missed,” he wrote in an email to staff members. “During the past couple of years, we’ve been through some tough times, and I have appreciated Francois’ ability to keep the larger picture in view.”

One of Francois’ tasks in his new role will be to help manage the relocation of Fulton College from Suva to Nandi. “Francois’ experience at Avondale will be of tremendous benefit to that project,” says Rodney Brady, chief financial officer for the church’s South Pacific Division.

Francois, his wife Monique and their children Michael, Dean, Shanae and Caleigh plan to move to Suva at the beginning of the year.
