Students with good grades affirmed by administrator
Some 214 students have received a Certificate of Commendation on behalf of Avondale College of Higher Education for maintaining a high distinction or distinction grade in at least half of the units for which they enrolled as full-time students this past year. Each certificate came with a letter from vice-president (learning and teaching) Dr Philip Brown affirming the student for their academic excellence and wishing them God’s blessing.

Alumna Ann Stafford has more winning photographs in her portfolio after receiving first and second prizes in the Live the Life Love the Lake Photographic Competition. The prizes in the “Our Place” category were for photographs of a mother and baby possum and of autumn leaves in Martinsville (pictured). Ann, the former graphic designer at Avondale College of Higher Education—she retired earlier this year—also received a highly commended in “Our Built Environment” for a photograph of Bethel Hall. Lake Macquarie City Council, Morisset Square and Southlake Business Chamber and Community Alliance sponsored the competition.
